Time Period of Gingerbread House (before you can eat it)

How long can you leave a gingerbread house out in the open (kitchen table but plastic sealed or covered) before eating it?

I am hoping to leave my house out for 5 days out, from the day its created and am hoping by the 6th day, house parts will be fresh enough for my family to eat.

At the very least. I have had mine longer before they are eaten. No complaints!
