how do I make smoke for a gingerbread house?
I was thinking about doing cotton candy but I do not have access to it. Any suggestions?

by making some sugar glass. cool it it a bit and pour a bit onto parchment paper as soon as it can be picked up, but still soft, stretch it out , it will get thinner and thinner. It will be very delicate. I've used this for an outdoor camp fire

YOui could use a bit of fondant....it'll give it a more whimsy look, but I've found others love the effect. Take a look at my gingerbread house in which I used fondant for the smoke. Here in Florida the humidity is a problem and I was afraid cotton candy would melt away.
