molasses substitute?

by Jasmine

Hi! I'm babysitting my sister and she's got her heart set on making a ginger bread house. I've got everything we need except for molasses. I was wondering if you can use honey or golden syrup or something as a substitute for molasses. Thanks for your time.

I have successfully used honey as a substitute for molasses, (preferably dark honey) or in a real pinch, pancake syrup!
