Last/ Ants

Hi, I am wondering how long the pre-made gingerbread house that you buy in the store will last once built? Also, what is a good way to keep ants away from them? Is there anything that can be sprayed on them?

I have some gingerbread houses that are at least 5 years old and have had no problems with bugs at all. I wrap them in plastic and store them in a sealed container. These are all the boxed Wilton type. I've never tried to store homemade gingerbread.

Put the house in a cellophane bag. The kind used to wrap gift baskets. They sell them at Michael's.
