How to cut gingerbread dough

I'm having a hard time keeping the shape of the piece when cutting it out. the corners drag out and it is hard to get everything back to correct shape.

Cutting gingerbread dough

Hi. Instead of cutting it and removing the excess before cooking, I cut my dough and leave about 1/2 inch around all my pieces so there's no where for it to spread to. I recut it while its still hot , right out of oven. (I replace my pattern on top and recut it.)

Try refrigerating it for longer before rolling and cutting out your gingerbread.

Another trick is to sprinkle more flour on the rolled out gingerbread.

Does anyone else here have any tips for cutting gingerbread without it stretching?
