Usually at least a year

Most gingerbread kits last well beyond a year, but you definitely want to search the box for an expiration date (since you don't know how fresh it was when you purchased it). There's usually an expiration date somewhere on there, but they can be difficult to see/find.

And you can also tell by opening it up and looking. The gingerbread itself is likely to last several years even but the candies and icing might not be so great to use. If that's the case, just make your own (or purchase) new icing and candies to decorate.

Good luck!
