How can I make gingerbread man cookies hard so that I can put them on my tree?

Whenever I want my gingerbread to be harder than ususal, like building a house or tree ornament...I bake the cut-out,(dough), about 13 1/2 minutes at 350 degrees. Be sure not to burn it, but it will get hard after you bake it and let it sit for a couple of days. Hope this helps.
