Melted Chocolate Works!
by: Kelly

I finally tried this approach myself (using melted chocolate instead of royal icing as "glue") and it worked very well. I used chocolate candy melts (you can find at Michaels, Walmart, or other craft and cake decorating stores. Worked like a charm. Dried very solid and held together well.

Substitute "glue"
by: Jana

I've heard of people using melted chocolate--such as a bag of chocolate chips from the grocery store (which you can sometimes find in white chocolate variety). You can even put them in a zip lock bag, stick in the microwave for a minute at a time on half=power--after melted you can cut a little hole in one corner of the bag and use it like a decorating bag to glue your gingerbread. I've also heard of people using Honey as the glue.

Hope this helps!
