baked ginger bread pieces are soft

I am trying to assemble my ginger bread house and the pieces are extremely soft and how do I get them firm again...and how do I store this so I can assemble in stages?

My ginger bread house has gone soft after assembly & started to collapse . How do I stop this from happening. I put some pieces back in the oven but they have also gone soft
