I found this while looking through old pictures! I decorated this Gingerbread Victorian Santa around 1989 for a cookie decorating contest that never happened. (Go figure!) I enjoyed doing it anyway. The bow and roses that frame Santa were formed by hand out of gumpaste. Very time consuming to form each little petal! The cookie part was flat but the decorations were 3 dimensional. I used "petal dust" to paint the face and for shadowing on his coat and sack of oranges.

Is that on a cake? I'm trying to picture the size and background colors... This is beautiful, V-. I am a huge fan of vintage art anyway. Excellence and perfection. A job well done.

Gorgeous! by: Jana Keeler
This is really beautiful and one of the most beautiful 3-D cookies I've ever seen. You should post this on a place called cakecentral.com where they have a place to post cookie photos---the folks there would love to see this as well!
