Taos Pueblo 2004 / second place at Darnall's Chance House Museum
This gingerbread creation was depicted from the real Taos Pueblo in New Mexico. I built it in levels. i actually built each level upside down, as not to break the lights that were sticking out. I cushioned the lights with stirafoam. The woman is baking bread in a bread oven, called on horno.

I am amazed at the detail in all the ristras. This is so southwestern..what a neat idea..you don't see this kind of gingerbread very often...and the luminaries are just outstanding..they look like they used noodles to represent the paper bags they use in New Mexico. I really like the lady making bread too!
