This was my first Christmas Gingerbread house. I had made a few Haunted Gingerbread Mansions and loved using different ingredients for decor and decided to try it out on one for Christmas. Now that I have the hang of it I might be able to enter a competition this year even just for fun! I went from trying shredded wheat to sliced almonds on the roof to cookies for doors to using chocolate bars. Yum Yum:)

The reindeer would love to eat this roof!
I just used a decorating pastry bag and a metal tip and added frosting that was tinted with a concentrated color that you buy at a craft store. I just kept making little branches all the way around till it looked like a tree.It took me awhile to get the hang of using the pastry bag, and learning to put the bag in a cup before you fill it so you can pour frosting in and not get it everywhere.

This is so very impressive for your first time! The fact that you made it so large is even more outstanding!A beautiful house, indeed:)

I am very curious how you made the Christmas tree in front. Is it a plastic one or also completely eatable?
