Not to sound too full of myself, but everyone was so impressed with this Christmas table centre piece, especially being my first attempt ever making one. All the kids kept asking "when can we eat it?" and all the adults kept saying "it's too nice to demolish".
After dinner the whole family sat around the house and we shared a moment to cherish it. Then it was game on. I said it's going to be hard to break so my two brothers took turns to see who could break it first. On the sixth attempt the roof finally caved in. Tasted great too!
I had heaps of fun building and more fun decorating it even though it took all day (such a perfectionist). I'm looking forward to creating a bigger & better one for 2010 Christmas.
My advice - although time consuming, making a gingerbread house may look difficult; but if you follow each step taking your time, it's easy!

Naydene, This is absolutely brillant! I agree with Jane, you bring the dessert next time we have dinner together (what about a rendition of the Eiffel Tower?).
