My favorite gingerbread house 2008 (Caffe Torino)

by Marianne Aubert
(San Jose, Costa Rica)

This house was inspired by a picture of a beautiful gingerbread house that I saw on the internet, however, I tried to make it different. It was a little hard to put the roofs together, but finally came out really nice. The roofs are covered with chocolate wafers, as well as the eaves... which have candy canes holding them as columns. The snowman is made out of fondant, and the trees of ice cream cones and icing. I really like the way this house looks at night, with the light coming out of all the windows....

We live in Torino Italy, and often have cappucino and hot chocolate in Cafe Torino!

Great house!

Huh...

Simple looking but very elegant. Nice detail work with the roof, eaves and windows. I really like it.
