Mirro Gingerbread Mold

I have a Mirro Gingerbread mold, vintage style, (U.S. Patent 2.765.729.) I don't know how I should put the gingerbread dough into or onto the mold to bake it. Does anyone have this style of gingerbread mold, or know how to use it?

Mirro mold

These came out in 1954 in the Woman's Day magazine (10cents from A&P Grocery). You could order the mold for $1.00. The directions say to use a Gingerbread mix only don't follow directions on bag or box. Put 1/2 cup of flour in the mix and 2/3 cup of water only. Mix well and put in the mold. Bake for 1 1/2 hours at 325degrees. Unmold---cool and cut the bottom level and decorate with icing and candy however you want. I have been making them since that year. You can use gingerbread cookie mix also. It is a little cheaper per box or bag.

I have directions.

I just got one with directions. They are:
Assemble, grease and flour the cake form. Pour in batter, spreading evenly into corners. Place the cake form on center rack in oven. Put a piece of aluminum foil or a drip pan on lower rack in the event that a little batter should leak out. Bake 90 minutes at 325 degrees. Test by inserting a toothpick in the center. When it comes out dry, the cake is done. Remove from the oven and let cool 10 minutes. Remove end pieces and side of the cake form. Set upright on a cooling rack. If the bottom of the house has a little bulge, it can be trimmed when cool.

Do you have any idea when these were made? Mine says Patent Pending. Mine has a couple sample pictures of how to decorate.
