I entered this in the fair here. I won 3 ribbons. Thanks you, Thank you...lol. Anyway the kitten is laying on a pillow. The banner is also on a pillow. I had to paint the birthday writing because I have only made about 5 cakes and have not learned yet how to pipe. So that part looks a bit messy. I am practicing piping, thanks to all You Tube videos. I am sure I will get the hang of it soon. The fondant is made from marshmallow and powdered sugar. The kitten is made from rice cereal and fondant mixed with gum paste (A bit cheaper and works).
if you print off some lettering templates you can place the template under a piece of wax paper and pipe onto that then peel off the dried piped letters and place onto your cake gluing it on with a touch of water

fondant by: Anonymou
I am new to using fondant. I have been decorating cakes for years as a hobby. My daughter wants a kitty cat birthday party. This year I want to hand sculpt several unique kittens on her cake. What did you mean when you said you added gumpaste to your fondant. Did you mix just the gumpaste powder to your fondant you had already made or did you mix the gumpaste following the directions and then added it to your fondant? I just don't want to make any big mistakes. I want each kitten to be realistic at best. Thank You! I love your kitten by the way. I will try the cereal for the mold because I want to go the cheapest route.
