Keeping gingerbread ornaments

I bought a premade gingerbread ornament kit, it doesn't have any instruction on how long you can keep them, if you're suppose to eat them? I bought it in hopes to make ornaments and to give them as gifts and to save some for decorating in the future... please help!! By the way, it is "Creat a Treat" brand, came with icing, sprinkles and prevailed gingerbread cut outs and frosting.
