How to clean caramel off pans
by: Thelastmumsy

Easy peasy, just soak in water overnight - it's sugar, it dissolves, no need to scrub or use cleaning products I promise you!

Burnt Sugar Mess Solution
by: Anonymous

Quick tip for cleaning the pot or pan after making sugar glue (or, in my case, burning the sugar onto the pot...):

Boil vinegar in the pot. I couldn't find "normal" vinegar the night I had to clean the blackened, burnt mess out of my friend's expensive pot. So, I used Rice vinegar. It stunk to high heaven and the fumes were a little unpleasant on the eyes and throat. But, it worked! And, I suffered no lasting damage to my soft tissue.

After boiling the vinegar, I scrubbed the pot with baking soda, then washed it with regular dish soap. All of the tar-like stuff came right off and most of the blackened stuff (resembling cast iron) came off as well. Now, there's just a few small black spots (that I'm sure are permanent...I REALLY burned the crap out of this pot...)

sooo easy

this makes putting the house together so easy.
However, sugar burns easy so be careful and clean up can be difficult if the sugar hardens in the pot.
