Houmas House Plantation
by Carolyn Bowman
I am a painter and our art association has been allowed by the owner to hang artwork in the entrance gift shop at Houmas House Plantation. I decided to make a copy of the plantation out of gingerbread for Christmas. My granddaughter and I reproduced the house. It was very difficult because the roof was different from most and our roof tiles kept getting pulled up when the roof tried to cave in. We finally figured a way to shore the roof. It came out pretty good. |
