gingerbread carousel

How do I bake a sturdy round or square center support for a gingerbread carousel that will be 8" tall? I can't find a can that is tall enough to wrap the dough around. Thanks in advance.

Gingerbread center support

The center can also be a hexagon. It also gives you the opportunity to add more icng and decorations like a real carousel. Also, that way you can bake them flat and make them fit your center support. A juice can works well and if it is a little too tall for your poles, add peppermints to give them kore height.

I will use a large pineapple juice can that is 7 1/2 inches tall. I will wrap gingerbread dough around it and bake. This should make a sturdy center base for the carousel roof and base.

Also found Hammond candy canes that are just the right height and thickness.

Will post photos later this month.
