Forgot Ginger!!

So I was cleaning up after making my dough and realized that somehow I forgot to add the ginger! I don't know how it didn't get in there. I already have the dough in the fridge cooling, can I add it in now or should I be making another dough? Just worried about flavor. Thanks in advance for any advice!!

Forgot ginger in dough

Unbelievable, the main ingredient and I forgot to include in dry ingredients. I've baked 1/2 the dough so will add ginger to icing. Thank you for top. I'll mix it in the other portion og dough.

Of all the ingredients to forget,...! At least it only affects the flavor and not the ability to bake properly.

If I were you, I'd probably take a portion of the dough out and see how hard it is to kneed in some ginger. If its too difficult, then maybe you can mix a little ginger in with your flour before rolling out the gingerbread. That way, the cookies should have at least a bit of ginger flavor.

Let us know what you did and how it worked.
