edible mountain

I need to make an edible mountain with a cave opening and would like to get ideas for supporting the structure. I will be working with 4th graders so I need it to be as simple as possible.

I have made mountains from rice crispy treat mix---just mold it into the shape you want and cover with icing/decorations...
