Easy cleanup when making fondandt

by Shalima Persad

This is a fondant tip that I got in one of my classes

When preparing fondant use a plastic bowl preferably.

Grease the spoon, bowl, working surface and your hands with Crisco fat before you begin, this ensures that the mixture does not stick to your hands, bowl and working surface.

By doing this, when you have completed mixing / kneading the fondant every piece of crumb or lump is easily rubbed into your mixture.

You have less mess to clean up and, even if you dust powdered sugar over the greased surface, it does not change the texture of your fondant it actually makes it easier for you to work with.

Used Tenderflake. Worked great. Rubbed in onto every surface. Hands washed off beautifully.
