Candyland Waterpark

Candyland Waterpark

I have made it a Christmas tradition to design custom-made gingerbread house creations with my daughter, nieces and nephews. This year we went above and beyond, an outdoor waterpark. I made this with my 15-year-old niece, Sophia.

Candyland Waterpark - how to create
by: Linda Duerst

Candyland Waterpark: The leisure pool has a lily pad walk made out of jellied candies and the netting is made from the material that covers a bag of onions, and the trim is made from Pez candies. The water is made from piping jell and the tile work is made from fondant. The lap pool is complete with lane ropes made out of a candy necklace and piping jell. The tile work is made from fondant and trimmed with gum. The sprayground is made mostly from candy canes and the waterspray is made from fishing wire. The lazy river is actually a cat toy taken apart, and a waterside is the top part of the cat toy. The snack bar is made out of gingerbread, and includes handmade items that look just like the real thing. Tiling is made out of gum, lounge area tile is also gum, umbrellas are made out of fondant. The palm trees are all made of gumpaste on pretzel rods. Edible fondant was used to create hot dogs, hamburgers, pretzels, cakes and donuts. The landscaping grew from grape stems dipped in green chocolate and rolled in Rice Krispies cereal and topped off with touches of icing roses.
