When I smell ginger it gives me a severe migraine and breathing difficulties. If I actually ingest ginger in any small amount, my throat begins to close over, I can't breathe, I become extremely feverish, dizzy and I have tunnel vision. If untreated, I'm told I would die. My mother has the same reaction.

Allergic reactions to gingerbread by: Esprit64
There's plenty--depending on what is in the recipe. For example, gluten and dairy intolerances. Egg allergies. Some people overreact to sugar, chocolate, nuts--chocolate and nuts are not your standard ingredients. However, when eating anyone's recipe, it's best never to take anything for granted--always ask and hope that the baker remembers.
