A Season of Hope

I was asked to participate in this Gingerbread Competition for 2011 to help The Chesapeake Cancer Alliance raise funds for cancer research at The Upper Chesapeake Hosptial in Bel Air, MD. It is held at The Bel Air Armory every year and is part of a Festival of Trees where local businesses donate themed decorated trees that get auctioned off, as are the gingerbread houses and wreaths.

I decided to go with the theme of, hope for all seasons of life. So each side of my house depicts a different season of the year. I had a blast with this house mainly because I was able to work on different holidays other than just Christmas.

I won 1st place. My employer sponsored my house so that made it all the more exciting to do. Thank You Klein's Shoprite for the opportunity to share my passion to possibly make a difference in someone's life.
