I have a set of cookie cutters for making a Nativity. I've never used them, maybe this year?! I live in Australia so mine came from a Christian bookstore called Koorong but I've found them on a website as well. http://www.encouragementstore.com/c-99-nativity-story-cookie-cutter-set.aspx

Gingerbread Nativity or Manger Scene by: Kit
I had my First Grade Sunday School class make Gingerbread Nativity Scenes this last week. It took a good 30 minutes and it was a lot of fun!
I used half of a shoe box as the base and covered them ahead of time with Glad Press & Seal Wrap.
We used:
Cookie Icing (important not to try to use frosting) - 1 tube per 2 kids worked well.
Graham Crackers - about 12 squares per child.
This makes the back and sides (I didn't bother with a roof).
Rice krispies as the floor.
2 large marshmallows and a small marshmallow held together with a toothpick makes and easy person. Then I wrapped a "cloak" (fruit rollup) around the "person" to make a Mary and Joseph.
1 large marshmallow makes a nice sheep.
A shredded wheat is a good "hay bail".
I even used the hay bail with a jelly bean to make the "Baby Jesus".
I found a candy star and some animal cookies to add also.
