Dough for making a gingerbread house (non-edible)

by Mary Hayes
(Baltimore, Maryland)

Can I use a basic salt dough recipe and dye it brown to make my gingerbread house? Will the royal icing stick to it? The kids are not eating the dough so I was trying to get an inexpensive recipe for dough.

Please let me know

Thank you!

I would think that would work. Why don't you try a small batch and see how it goes? Please let us know here too!
